• 過氧化氫是一種活性氧物質，也是最簡單的過氧化物，具有氧-氧單鍵的化學結構。
• 一般低濃度（如3%）的過氧化氫，可加強殺菌消毒的效果，也可用作兼具殺菌效能的清潔劑。
• 一般高濃度如（如10%）的過氧化氫，可用於紡織品、皮革、紙張、木材製造工業，作為漂白及去味劑。
• Sewage treatment：Hydrogen peroxide is used in certain waste-water treatment processes to remove organic impurities.
• Disinfectant：Hydrogen peroxide may be used for the sterilization of various surfaces, including surgical tools, and may be deployed as a vapour (VHP) for room sterilization. H2O2 demonstrates broad-spectrum efficacy against viruses, bacteria, yeasts, and bacterial spores.
• Propellant：High-concentration H2O2 is referred to as "high-test peroxide" (HTP). It can be used either as a monopropellant (not mixed with fuel) or as the oxidizer component of a bipropellant rocket. Use as a monopropellant takes advantage of the decomposition of 70–98% concentration hydrogen peroxide into steam and oxygen.
